This summer, I decided to start a YouTube channel and share my filmmaking journey with the world! I was a bit afraid at first, but now the more I do it and the more videos I make, the more I actually love it. I thought, if I can inspire a new generation of filmmakers, have a platform to share my work with the world and, potentially, create a stream of income that could one day support my work even further would be like a dream to me. So here we are.

At this stage of my YouTube career, it’s too early to say if I will find success. However, I would really appreciate if you subscribe to my channel, like and commented on my videos. I don’t fully understand how the YouTube algorithm works yet, but I know that engagement makes a huge difference.

I also have many ideas for my channel. Recently, I started a podcast, and in the future, I want to focus not just on filmmaking or life of a filmmaker but also on my life as a husband and one day a father. I would love to share interesting stories that might inspire someone or offer a new perspective on things.

So far, I have grown to 3,000 subscribers, though the journey has been a bumpy ride, to say the least. In my first few months on YouTube, I reached a few hundred subscribers, which later grew to 3,000 after I used YouTube promotions to help grow my channel. Now thinking maybe it was a mistake? I’m not a seasoned YouTuber yet and everything about this is new to me, so I’m learning as I go. I just imagine how awesome it would be if one day I could get paid for my content on YouTube! This would make my “film dream-chasing journey” a little easier while allowing me to make more independent films and improve as a filmmaker.
